Undergraduate courses,the following scores provide an indication of the minimum requirement at most universities:
- IELTS — overall score of 6.0 (no band less than 5.5)
- PTE – 50-57 score
Post graduation courses, the following scores provide an indication of the minimum requirement at most universities:
- IELTS — overall score of 6.5 (no band less than 6.0)
- PTE – 58-64 score

Documentary Evidence List
- Evidence of intended study
- Evidence of your intended study must be provided to make a valid application. Unless you are in a special category listed below, you must provide:
- A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for all intended courses if applying outside Australia.
- A CoE or letter of offer for all intended courses if applying in Australia (a CoE must be provided before the visa can be granted).
- Special categories
You do not need to supply a Confirmation of Enrolment if you are:
- Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade sponsored – provide a letter of support
- Australian Department of Defence sponsored – provide a letter of support
- Secondary exchange student – provide an Acceptance Advice of Secondary Exchange Student form
- Postgraduate research student required to remain in Australia for marking of your thesis – provide a letter from your education provider.
Things to note
- You must be enrolled in a course of study in Australia
- You must hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), or fall in one of the exemption categories, for your stay in Australia.
- With a 485 visa, you are allowed to stay in Australia for 18 months to gain work experience only if you have just completed at least two years of study in Australia. ... The 886 visa allows an overseas student to apply for permanent residency and work while being sponsored by an employer.
- The amount of time your visa is valid depends on what level of study you completed in Australia.
- You can stay for two years if: You completed a Bachelor’s degree / Master’s degree
- You completed a Master’s by coursework degree
- You can stay for three years if: You a studied a Master’s by research
- You can stay for four years if:You completed a Doctorate degree

- The preferred mode of payment of VFS Global Service Charge is by Debit & Credit Card.VFS will accept all Visa, Master and Maestro cards. VFS Global service charge can also be paid by cash at the Visa Application Centre or in the form of Demand draft favouring “VFS Global Services Pvt Ltd” payable at the city where the application is submitted.
- For Postal Applications, the VFS Global Service Charge Demand Draft should be in favour of “VFS Global Services Pvt Ltd” payable at the city where the application is couriered
ONLINE VISA ASSIST (IMMI ACCOUNT) - SERVICE FEE Online Visa Assist (Immi Account)
- (Receive personalized assistance from trained VFS Global officers in completing your student visa application form and scanning and uploading supporting documents for online lodgement of your application at the Centre.
- This service also includes uploading any subsequent documents only upon request by mission) INDIA INR 1385.00
